Today I published small advertisements in a newspaper. As private person you can offer advertisements free of charge as online version. Your ad also gets published in a real paper which can be bought in shops, at stations, airports etc. There are various newspapers where people can offer things free of charge. Although you can insert items for free I chose a highligthed version which stays on top of other advertisements:

This month we placed an ad in the monthly published WiWi-Journal, a german online magazine.

WiWi-Journal's targeted audience are students of economics and business studies. We hope to attract the attention of these students to Linux marketing.

We have launched a new promotion site. This is our first promotion project since the Spread Linux launch:

We decided to remove the download area on our site as a reaction to criticism regarding the selection of the distributions we listed there. The main target of Spread Linux is to spread the "brand" Linux. We want to initiate discussions and take action to help spreading Linux.

Every one who loves Linux can help to spread Linux, regardless of the distribution they personally favorize.

After a long weekend we have updated the website :) We replaced the yellow side bars with gray sidebars. The site should be much more relaxing for the eyes now. We also created a favicon which a modern platform like Spread Linux should really have. These were things which were requested by members in the forums. Thanks again for your feedback! Someone asked if we will replace our logo with another logo - we're sorry but we won't change our SL pinguin logo for a while... ;) A minor change was the small logo which you see on the right beside our entries. It is more visible than the small pinguin.

Next on our agenda is to create the first Spread Linux icons which you can place on your homepage or on other websites. We try to publish them in the next days. They will be available in different sizes and can be placed on sites with various background colors.

So we did not only update the site but we also thought about the next marketing project we will start soon.
